FAQ
Are any of the people who made "Pope Michael" followers of Bawden?
No, none of the people behind the film are followers of Bawden.
When is the documentary being released?
There is no release date set at this time, although you can sign up to receive an alert when the documentary is scheduled to be screened in your area, or is available through some other means.
Is Bawden crazy?
Despite people's usual first impression, the Bawdens and the two seminarians - Phil and Eli - are quite normal. Their situation is just a little strange.
How long is the documentary?
It's about 1 hour and 26 minutes.
How does Bawden make money?
This question is by far and away the one that has come up the most. As far as I can tell, the answer is pretty boring: just savings over the years and frugal living.
Did you try and contact anyone else to be interviewed for the film?
Yes. Early on I contacted a few former followers, all who declined to participate by giving an interview. Several members of the Catholic Church as well as family members of some of those appearing in the film declined to give interviews.
In the end, though, even if these interviews were conducted, they probably wouldn't have made it into the final cut. The scope of the documentary turned out to only be able to really encompass the stories of Bawden, Phil, and Eli.
